This interview with Czech philosophy Karel Kosík was conduced by Raúl Fornet-Betancourt and Martin Traine on February 13, 1993 in Prague. First published in German as "Dass die Bürger es sind, die eine freie Welt gründen", in the journal Concordia. Internationale Zeitschrift für Philosophie 44 (1993), pp. 13–23, we now print it in a Czech translation by Adam Balcar.
